About the role

This belief is backed by two major regeneration programmes; Wood Green and Tottenham and through investments from the Council, the Greater London Authority, Transport for London and private funding. With Tottenham alone, we are seeing the benefit of more than £1 billion of public and private investment to transform the area.
Our aim is to tackle inequality and breakdown barriers for our residents by promoting good growth and delivering at least 9,000 new jobs and 18,000 new homes, including new Council owned homes, alongside significant new social infrastructure, neighbourhood that will be driven by our communities and socio-economic initiatives.
We are now seeking an experienced regeneration professional to head up our regeneration programme across North Tottenham. An area which include the Council’s largest and most ambitious placemaking schemes, consisting of the High Road West Scheme, which will deliver over 2600 new homes, including 500 council homes and substantial community infrastructure, the £1b Tottenham Hotspur Development Project, the Selby Urban Village Project which will see the largest investment in sports and community facilities made in the borough in over a decade and the innovative Placemaking Plan for Northumberland Park, which is being driven through co-design with the local community.
You will manage a large team of regeneration, rehousing and engagement professionals and be responsible for the successful delivery of the programme.
About you
The role requires someone who understands what is needed to create great places and someone who has a proven-track record of delivering high quality developments and delivering both service and culture change.
We are passionate about our diverse communities and want to ensure they are at the heart of our placemaking approach across North Tottenham. As such, we are looking for someone who shares our passion for community involvement and has a proven track-record of working closely with communities and partners and taking a multi-agency approach to co-design and delivering place-based change.
As you will be responsible for the council’s most ambitious place-making schemes, you will need extensive experience of planning, design, working with development partners and contractors and be able to manage complex contractual development and funding agreements. You will be able to demonstrate a sound commercial acumen and be able to lead commercial negotiations and ensure value for money for the council.
You will bring substantial knowledge and experience of development delivery and housing, the London housing market, the housing policy landscape, the challenges facing local authorities in delivering housing and infrastructure and the external funding sources available. As we are seeking innovative ways for the Council to deliver new high-quality homes and infrastructure for both existing and new residents, you would have worked on direct delivery of housing and placemaking schemes either at a registered provider, within a local authority or in the private sector.
You will also lead a number of public realm improvement projects, play a critical role in delivering strategic transport improvements across the area, as well as supporting economic growth and the development of the local plan and key strategies that will influence placemaking in North Tottenham.
As such you should have excellent credentials in managing multiple projects, contracts, strategies and multi-disciplinary teams. It is also critical that you are able to build and maintain excellent relationships at all levels, from residents through to investment partners and politicians so that a shared vision for North Tottenham can be delivered.
