Grimshaw is hiring experienced architects to join its team in London.
Grimshaw’s London studio has a fantastic opportunity for experienced architects to join our team leading on the development of major transport hubs across the UK including HS2 Euston Station in London.
Working within a large multidisciplinary project team, successful candidates will lead and deliver of key design aspects of the project, sharing expertise, and experience. Individuals will also have the opportunity to feed into the mentoring and professional development of Grimshaw people, offering knowledge and approaches to enhance the collaborative spirit of the large, very active team.
Representing the practice in client and stakeholder liaison, the ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience Post-part 3 (or equivalent) with demonstrable sector experience on complex/large scale projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- demonstrate design and technical flair
- contribute to design work, objectives, composition, materials and colour, architectural ‘volume’ control, detail quality and build quality, as well as the overall ‘bigger picture’
- be a team player – develop design work in close cooperation with other members of the Grimshaw project team
- enthusiastically take on board responsibility for specific roles, areas, or packages within a project
- work within an agreed scope and deliver complete ‘packages’ of work, to often-tight deadlines
- contribute to the generation and exploration of design and construction ideas, being aware of the balance of conceptual, aesthetic, constructional and cost influences
- represent the practice – assist in client, stakeholder, and authority liaison, in collaboration with project leads
- be attentive of client feedback, issues or potential problems and report any issues raised
- be a mentor – assist in coaching junior team members on the project
