Mid-weight interior designer

Katie McCrum Studio is seeking a mid-weight interior designer to join its team in London.

We are looking for a creative, passionate and highly motivated, mid weight interior designer to join our small and dedicated team.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience and working knowledge of luxury/high-end private residential projects. As well as having an exceptional eye for detail, the candidate must be proactive and ​resourceful with a keen enthusiasm to learn; plus have the confidence and skills to deliver intelligent solutions.

This role will suit a person who is looking to develop their skills and progress into a senior design role.

Your role:

  • working on projects from concept ​through to completion
  • sourcing and selection of FF&E
  • preparation of specifications and schedules
  • producing FF&E​/materials boards
  • producing high quality client presentations
  • spatial planning and furniture layouts
  • developing detailed drawing packs including: joinery and bathrooms
  • developing material and colour palettes and mood boards
  • researching for furniture, lighting and other residential equipment
  • communicating with suppliers, ordering and organising samples
  • preparing and delivering presentations
  • managing and meeting deadlines
  • understanding project costs and assisting with project budgets

Your skills:

  • degree or equivalent in interior design
  • three to five years post-graduate experience in the luxury residential sector
  • experience in delivering all aspects of the RIBA work stages
  • fluent in spoken and written English, impeccable communication
  • fully proficient with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe software, Estimac
  • experience working on all aspects from concept to completion.
  • excellent interpersonal skills

  • experience delivering FF&E packages
  • self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • ability to work as a team
  • knowledge of industry standards
  • organisational and time management skills

  • able to plan, prioritise and provide timely solutions
  • ability to work under pressure

Candidates must have proven UK experience and be able to commute to our studio in Kings Cross, although we are happy to accommodate flexible hybrid working options.
