Overview
YOO is a world renowned interior concept, branding and lifestyle design company with a dedicated design Studio. Founded by British property developer John Hitchcox and Philippe Stack in 1999, the company has worked with some of the world’s largest names in design, development and construction industry.
YOO is currently looking to recruit a highly competent and experienced lead interior designer/interior architect to play a key part in the success and business development of the company’s innovative projects and collaborations. The role is client-facing, challenging and will therefore require someone with excellent design, business development and presentation skills. The role primarily focuses on seeking out new hospitality client opportunities, particularly south east Asia and Australia, as well as maintaining and expanding current high end residential client base.
Essential experience, skills and qualifications:
- interior designer, based in Thailand, preferably in Bangkok
- senior 10+ years in the industry – possibly at design director level or running own small company
- proactive, excellent client facing presentation and relationship building skills
- extensive experience of working in high-end interior/architectural design
- outstanding design and concept development skills, with good construction knowledge
- very good knowledge of the Asian design market and high end residential hospitality market
- excellent understanding of the international branded lifestyle market
- high quality presentation work and strong communication skills
- good conceptual and technical skills to prepare design drawings and schedules
- excellent project specific time management awareness
- strong leadership and organisational skills
- thorough knowledge of current FFE trends and suppliers, both European and Asian
- reporting to head of design in London studio
- excellent spoken and written English skills are essential
Key responsibilities:
- the candidate should have background both in design and business development
- to represent yoo design in Asia. The preference is for the candidate to already have strong roots with existing clients
- linking up with yoo current clients and seeking out new client opportunities
- focusing on presenting design proposals for new clients and building new client relationships thorough selling the yoo design USP
- preparing concept design proposal/pitches for business development purposes
