Urban designer 2 (12-month fixed term)
Perkins+Will is seeking an experienced urban designer to support its growing UK and international practice centered in its London office. The practice is focused on creating inventive and resilient environments that support appropriate development and facilitate high quality of life for the future inhabitants of its projects. Project types are wide-ranging and geographically diverse and most projects are executed in collaboration with other Perkins & Will offices globally. This is a great opportunity for a young urban designer looking for a fast-paced, challenging global experience.
Successful candidates must have experience across the design process including site and data analysis, the creation of design concepts, quantification of design proposals, presentation and storytelling. Candidates may have backgrounds in urban design, architecture, or landscape architecture, with an emphasis on masterplanning. Supporting experience in GIS and/or data science would be a positive.

Design:
- understanding of planning, land use and design principles
- able to present to and work with stakeholders to develop designs
- aspires to project goals of excellence in design, realistic implementation, sustainability and resiliency
Technical:
- experience with Illustrator, InDesign and strong graphic capabilities are a requirement
- experience in Rhino is also required and experience of Grasshopper is a significant positive
- experience with ESRI, ArcGIS software is required
- experience in preparing reports and presentations is required
- experience with AutoCAD and Revit are a positive
- hand sketching and drawing abilities are a positive
- understanding of stakeholder engagement preparation and organisation
- ability to undertake site visits and site photography is a positive
