Junior architect and social media coordinator

Herzog & de Meuron has an opportunity for a junior architect and social media coordinator to join its team in Hong Kong.
Herzog & de Meuron is an international architectural practice based in Basel with studios in Berlin, Munich, London, Paris, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, New York and San Francisco. Our team of over 500 collaborators develops projects of all scales across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
To complete our team in Hong Kong for our prestigious projects in China and South East Asia, we are looking for a creative and motivated individual who would work as a designer in a project team, and assist us in coordinating our presence on the social media of this region.
As part of Herzog & de Meuron’s Project team, you will be dedicated to a particular project to develop the design from the conceptual stage together with the rest of the design team.
You need to have the following requirements:
- diploma or masters degree in architecture or interior design from a university or design institution
- at least one year of professional experience in an architecture studio in Hong Kong and/or China/South East Asia
- previous studies or courses taken in media, journalism, or the arts in combination with a strong affinity for architecture and design preferred
- good conceptual, design and presentation skills
- strong capability in formulating and illustrating design ideas through quick sketch drawings and models, analytical diagrams, 3D modelling, scripting and rendering
- strong interest in art and design fields and cultural sectors (communications, publications, graphics, exhibitions)
- proficient in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and Rhino; 3D Revit preferred
- trilingual in English-Cantonese-Potunghua mandatory
Besides, you will be supporting Herzog & de Meuron’s Newsroom team, located in Basel, to create, produce and implement ideas and content on the social media. Newsroom manages and shapes the public image of the office, bridging the gap between what we create as an architectural practice and how it is represented in the public realm. Your tasks from time to time will include:
- support with day-to-day media inquiries that require general coordination, proof-reading, and image set compilation
- work with a variety of content (images, videos, drawings, text) related to specific projects for internal and external channels (i.e., social media, website)
- support in compiling internal overviews (press clippings, communications calendar, copyrights record).
- graphic support (image-handling, drawing, photography, presentations, publications)
