Mid-weight 3D creative designer
at Black Amber Studio
Black Amber Studio is seeking a mid-weight 3D creative designer to join its team in London.
Who we are
We are nice people.
We are a boutique-creative agency, working mainly for the luxury drink industry based in Hackney Wick, London.
We do tangible design: the real-life type of things! From the packaging to objects, through retail to experiences.
Experience! This is exactly what make us different for over 15 years than any other agency! We constantly challenge our way to interact with a product: in store, in airport, in bar, at home.
We like to tell stories, create exciting interactions and print memorable experiences on people’s life.
We are a super small team composed by essentially freelancers, and we are looking for someone to come onboard as our first permanent employee!
The role
- your primary goal will be to create and design amazing and striking experiences, objects and retails thought moodboards, sketches, 3D modelling and beautiful renderings
- as mid-weight creative 3D designe, you should be good at handling 3D modelling and rendering (C4D will be the perfect match) and are confident to create realistic space, object and piece of furniture and produce their technical package
- you can see the big picture, know how to craft consumer-centric brand experiences and keen to work outside your comfort zone
- you should have a keen eye for trends and good proportionate designs
- you will work directly with the creative director and the freelance designers team
- you will have to present ideas to clients, take feedbacks and understand how to rework the project to fit into the brand and the client communication and ideas
The type of people we would love to meet
As it is a pretty new, weird, unexpected, fun type of job, there is no school for that!
So, we are looking for someone who has a background as 3D retail designer or industrial designer and is ready to play outside their usual work playground.
This is the ideal requirement:
- be a super nice, kind, enthusiastic person (it is really really important)
- have excellent idea and concept generation
- have good communication and presentation skills in selling your ideas to clients or your team
- demonstrate a solid understanding of the consumer journey and behaviours, interrogating the brief and identifying key objectives
- are problem solver and you bring solutions to the table
- have meticulous attention to details, are multi-task, driven and motivated!
- have three to five years’ creative design agency experience
- have excellent knowledge of 3D modelling and rendering (C4D ideally), Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Keynote and Microsoft
- have an amazing 3D environment sketching and creation of visual design concepts and moodboard skills
- know how to generate technical packages for production
- have a great written and spoken English
(We are aware that is a lot to be so, if you think that you miss to tick some boxes but have other exciting ones, tell us!)
Also, we will choose you based on your skills, experiences and achievements, not your gender, age, ethnic or educational background or any other such factors.
We will welcome you as you are! An amazing, kind creative person!
Your objective for the end of the first year
Be independent, do your first project on your own and manage an intern or a junior designer!
The bits
- salary competitive and fair
- you have 20 contractual days, all bank holidays and your birthday and the day after!
- flexible working with the option to split days between studio (Hackney wick) and WFH
We do not have the capacity to sponsor anyone for work permit at the moment as we are a small studio.
