Job purpose

To work alongside external clients and internal operations teams to provide quality, integrated technical design expertise. Advise and guide the design process, complete site surveys and provide 2D and 3D architectural drawings packages for commercial customers and the supply chain.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • assist in the production of high-quality, accurate 2D and 3D working architectural drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit, including site survey detail, to produce full working technical drawing packages (including elevations, proposed plans, floor schedules, RCP’s, door schedules, etc.)
  • work alongside the wider technical design team to ensure that where appropriate, nationwide project surveys, site visits and client meetings are resourced. Carry out measured site surveys within proposes units and process the scanned data to build the suite of design and build content
  • build the design and drawings packages based on a design brief received either directly from a client or from internal stakeholders. Discuss and negotiate a planned approach with key stakeholders at all levels (divisional directors/managers, project managers, project coordinators) and create the required drawings package to a high standard and within specified timescales. Communicate progress and manage expectations via standard business channels
  • in conjunction with approved building authority inspectors, provide building and design regulation and technical assistance based on the proposed design to ensure it remains compliant
  • as per internal quality process, review own drawings for completeness prior to the internal checking procedure. Maintain all revisions of project drawings, including drawing issues sheets and department administration
  • ensure drawings are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols. Keep abreast of changes to regulations and legislation and ensure that these are reflected in working practices and procedures
  • follow and comply with all policies and procedures of Resolution Interiors which includes the Health and Safety procedures, ensuring personal safety and the safeguarding of the interests and safety of all staff, visitors, and contractors
  • ensure a contribution and adherence to delivering the quality and information security policies and systems across the business

  • carry out other duties relevant to your post as reasonably required by management

Person specification

Essential:

  • level 3 qualification in 2D/3D computer aided design, engineering or equivalent
  • A Levels or equivalent
  • valid UK driving licence
  • experience working within the building industry producing architectural drawings
  • experience of completing measured site surveys and scans using Faro 3D scanners Scene/PointCAB
  • good working knowledge both 2D AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit
  • use of MS Office 365
  • consistency in producing highly accurate architectural drawings
  • demonstrable organisational and time management skills
  • attention to detail with the ability to work at pace
  • creative and inspiring approach to design innovation
  • proactive in managing client and business needs
  • a flexible and agile mindset to work effectively in a changeable environment
  • prepared to travel throughout the UK when required

Desirables:

  • degree in architectural design, interior design, interior architecture or similar
  • Autodesk Revit
  • experience working within the construction industry, either within a retail design practice, spatial planner, architectural practice or product design practice
  • working knowledge of current BIM standards
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • ability to work autonomously
  • high levels of client relationship management
  • problem solving skills, solution focused
