Kiani Architects is hiring a Part 2/3 architectural assistant to join its team in London.
Kiani Architects is a design-led studio based in London a short distance from Old Street, working in the contemporary workplace and mixed-use sectors. We are a small, but growing, friendly studio. We’re people-focused and design-led, working on a range of interesting and ambitious projects in London.
Following recent developments and successful planning permissions we are looking for a Part 2/3 with good creativity, working knowledge of Building Regulations and strong communication skills to work with us and lead London-based projects through all RIBA stages – from inception and feasibility to construction.
The role
Working closely with your director to lead and deliver projects, you would be required to design, develop, and coordinate projects independently or with support.
You will be familiar with designing workplace projects, or similar large-scale projects, and the contribution of SMEP consultants. The position would suit someone who wants to use their prior experience to pursue a role with greater responsibility and authorship in the design process. The role requires some initiative and understanding of the planning process and constraints of complex inner London sites.
The person:
- previous experience across RIBA stages on commercial and residential architecture predominantly in the UK]
- experience with composing Stage 3 and Stage 4 information for planning submission
- a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and concepts with hand sketches, renders and technical details.
- ability to work with a team to achieve a common goal
excellent 2D and 3D CAD skills within AutoCAD and REVIT workflows, alongside a working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator - confidence in writing reports for local authorities and stakeholders
