Architect
at IF_DO

IF_DO is looking for an architect with two to five years’ post qualification to join their team in London.

Established in 2014, IF_DO is an award winning practice dedicated to creating projects with a positive impact on users, the environment and the surrounding community. IF_DO was shortlisted for listed for BD Young Architect of the Year 2021, and named in the Architects’ Journal 40 under 40, 2020.

The position requires a talented designer with the ability, skills and motivation to act as an independent job-running architect, overseeing an assistant or small team. It will require the ability to successfully coordinate and engage with the design team, communicate ideas to a variety of audiences and resolve technical and construction challenges. The successful candidate will be a design-led motivated architect that can deliver high-quality projects. The role will involve work on projects at all stages, however significant experience of the later RIBA Stages (particularly RIBA Stage 4 detailed design) is essential.

About you

Required skills and experience:

  • RIBA Part 3 (or equivalent qualification)
  • two to four years’ post-Part 3 experience and be ARB registered
  • very strong design and detailing skills
  • experience across all RIBA work stages
  • technical expertise including UK regulatory framework (including
  • building regulations and CDM) and of current construction methods
  • experience of project procurement and contract management
  • strong project management skills (including experience working effectively with clients and consultant teams)
  • experience in managing a small team
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • proficiency in Vectorworks (2D and 3D) would be a bonus

  • good communication and presentation skills (including ability to visualise, illustrate and present ideas clearly)
  • excellent time management, organisation, planning and attention to detail
