Project architect

Studio Downie Architects is looking for a project architect to join its team in London.
Our portfolio covers contemporary design and historic fabrics with current projects including museum interiors, a woodland café, a Grade 1 listed upgrade, a mosque and an underground gallery.
We require an ARB registered architect with a minimum of five years’ post Part 3 UK experience for a project leader role working independently with a project director.
Skills and experience we are looking for are:
Managing RIBA Stage 2 to Stage 6 to prepare, coordinate and check project documents including:
- sketch designs and details, visualisations, report writing with neat formatting presentation skills
- product research, building regulation requirements, detailed technical drawings and NBS
- coordinate general arrangements with project engineers for technical detail production, installation drawings
- agendas, run design team/site meetings, write minutes, productive site visits recording quality and progress
- managing programmes, critical paths/pinch points/looking ahead and key documentation handover overview
We will require:
- proficiency in AutoCAD and creating construction/working drawings in Revit
- BIM experience from conceptual massing to construction documents
- a sound understanding of Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, Excel
Typically, you will work on two projects each week with daily updates and weekly briefings and initially the position will involve remote working. We provide strong mentorship explaining collaborative protocols to manage specific situations and support both continued professional development and adding social value through community participation.
You must be eligible to live and work in the UK without a work visa, including EU citizens with or eligible for settled status.
