Project architect/architectural technologist
at Studio PDP

PDP London is looking for a project architect, architectural technologist or technical architect to join its team in London.

The candidate will have strong technical and site experience to join our practice in Victoria, London for a six month fixed term contract.

We are particularly interested in people who have experience of working on heritage building refurbishments, stage three to five experience and good Revit skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • producing planning, technical and working drawings to a good standard
  • working autonomously, managing your own project package deliverables and meeting agreed deadlines with team leader
  • working across all packages
  • preparing detailed working drawings, designs and models, together with NBS specifications
  • preparing and deliver presentations and reports of the highest standard at Stages 4 and 5 of the project
  • running DTMs and workshops with external subcontractors
  • reviewing, commenting and status stamping sub-contractor construction information
  • reviewing junior team members drawings and mentoring their development
  • working within a team with other architects, architectural technologists and assistants
  • working closely with contractors, other consultants and design team members
  • ensuring your contribution to the project meets the practice’s financial and programme goals
  • good knowledge and application of relevant building regulations

Skills, knowledge and expertise:

  • site experience at stage four and five, this is an essential requirement
  • over five years post Part 3 qualification experience
  • proficiency in Revit and fluency in Microsoft packages
  • able to demonstrate construction knowledge
  • experience of collaborating with site and project managers
  • experience of working on a heritage refurbishment project
  • experience of successfully working on complex projects
  • expertise in construction drawings and construction details
  • strong knowledge of codes, practice standards, and industry expectations
  • proficient working knowledge of UK legal and statutory regulations and processes
  • good communication and teamwork skills
  • the ability to communicate successfully with stakeholders in the project
  • strong design and drawing skills
  • a proactive and enthusiastic attitude, and a willingness to contribute to wider practice groups and activities
