Avesta Group is seeking a senior exhibition designer to join its team in Paris.
Avesta Group is looking for a senior exhibition designer to bring to life curatorial and narrative concepts for various international projects.
The selected candidate will lead a creative team through the design development stages of permanent and temporary exhibitions. The senior designer oversees translating each project-specific curatorial and interpretive vision prepared by our curatorial team into a spatial design that provides a unique, site-specific design language tailored to the local context.
They must possess a combination of technical, methodology and process knowledge, a leadership experience and creative skills. The candidate is expected to be a dynamic professional with a unique creative vision who is passionate and inspires the creative team.
Candidate background:
- bachelor’s degree in architecture, scenography or interior design
- skills in museum exhibition design
- minimum of eight years’ experience in the conception of exhibitions
- experience with working in a multicultural environment and ability to adapt to local contexts
- experience in the multiple phases of the exhibition design process, including conceptualisation, design development and construction supervision
- have a good knowledge of the latest exhibition techniques, including multimedia, lighting design, wayfinding and graphic design
- fluent in English (oral and written)
- knowledge of Arabic language is appreciated
- excellent command of interior architecture technical drawing (all scales)
- good command of AutoCAD
- good command of 3D modelling in SketchUp, 3DS Max or equivalents
- good knowledge of photorealistic rendering, V-Ray or equivalent
- good knowledge of Adobe creative suite software (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop)
- team spirit, professionalism, diplomacy
- capacity to work on short notice
- flexible schedule (business travel possible)
- good communication, team and planning management skills
Job description
The selected candidate will:
- lead and deliver creative exhibition design projects
- act as artistic director for selected exhibitions projects
- lead projects from concept to executive drawings
- elaborate sketches, plans, 3D construction graphs, and construction details to express the projects’ interior design and technical aspects
- illustrate concepts using renderings, sketches and presentation documents
- prepare 3D models and generate plans, elevations and sections
- present and articulate design concepts and intent to internal and external stakeholders
- collaborate closely with all project stakeholders, and especially with clients
- be able to develop a schedule and define fabrication costs
