BIG is looking for urban designers to join its team in Barcelona, Spain.

BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) is currently seeking senior urban designers to join its Barcelona office with strong experience working in mid and large scale international urban/master plan projects and with middle eastern masterplan experience.

Requirements:

• a good record leading and/or actively participating in the design, management and development of masterplan projects
• highly motivated and passionate about design innovation, user experience and design in general
• well organised and thoughtful
• excellent communication in English language both spoken and written
• excellent CMP and DMP design skills
• comfortable with urban research and analysis, complex planning studies, placemaking concepts, program test-fits, sustainability strategies, conceptual design studies and development framework/guideline implementation plans
• strong client liaison and presentation skills
• strong organisational and time-management skills
• a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working
• experience with management and coordination of project stakeholders, local authorities and approving bodies and sub-consultants
• strong BIM, V-Ray, Rhino, Adobe Suite knowledge
• very good visualisation knowledge
• ability to develop design options in collaboration with the design team
• confidence and ability to comfortably direct the project progression and/or prepare, develop and edit drawings and models in accordance with the role within the project
• ability to take initiative in response to direction from directors and partners
• enjoys working collaboratively with others is reliable, trustworthy and cares about detail
