Architectural technologist

Superfutures is looking for an architectural technologist to join its team in London, UK.
Superfutures is an innovative design studio specialising in hybrid solutions for the lifestyle and food and beverage sectors, challenging every aspect from conceptual through to construction. We require highly motivated and talented individuals to help form our creative programme for the future.
Roles and responsibilities:
- ability to produce quick and high-quality work
- advanced technical drawing skills with attention to interior details
- excellent understanding of fabrication, materials and assembly processes
- provide creative solutions whilst ensuring technical requirements are met
- proficient knowledge of AutoCAD with experience in producing high-quality technical drawings and CAD files
- able to work on large drawing packages for commercial fit out projects, including but not limited to, plans and sections including equipment and services coordination, high-end bespoke joinery including typical hospitality details such as bars, waiter stations or fixed seating, typical high-end fit out details such as floor to ceiling details, door packages, typical stairs etc
- supervise the team documentation
- work closely with the senior designers providing general support and recommending technical solutions
- act as a mentor to junior designers
- learn and understand the team skills and assist senior designers with the organisation of project schedules and timelines
- ensure the integrity of the agreed design solutions and bespoke detailing in technical documentation
- understanding of project budgets in order to provide optimal technical solutions
- supervise project files records, drawing issues, etc
- loose furniture manufacturing experience would be appreciated
- hand sketching skills would be appreciated
- active interest in design, with experience and knowledge in a variety of different design practices would be appreciated
- understanding and implementation of office manuals, typical studio templates, project folder structures etc
Skills and experience:
- degree in interior design, architecture or similar
- seven plus years experience, ideally in the hospitality industry
- super proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp
- excellent interpersonal skills
- knowledge of hospitality services, operations, requirements and typical equipment
- ability to mark up technical packages
- technically minded with a positive can-do attitude
- highly organised, adaptable and flexible with the ability to use your own initiative
- ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be committed to completing tasks and following through
- team player, able to work with a variety of “characters”
