Michaelis Boyd is looking for a part-time communication manager to join its team in London, UK.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative individual who is passionate about architecture.

We are an architectural and interior design practice working on a wide range of exciting residential and commercial projects in the US, UK and across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. We are involved in all aspects of design, large or small, including unique architectural schemes, inspiring interiors through to custom furniture and lighting.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, efficient and highly organised to oversee the PR and communication strategy. They will work alongside founders and partners to build the profile of both London and New York offices.

The role

Press:

  • develop and maintain good working relationships with journalists
  • identify media opportunities, pitch journalists, expanding press coverage beyond the traditional architectural press
  • manage and respond to all incoming press requests
  • write press releases and thought leadership pieces for the practice
  • monitor and record all media coverage
  • liaise with client PR companies to coordinate and align strategy
  • establish media lists and set up a PR database

Content:

  • create content to be used across profiles, brochures, books, the website and awards submissions
  • oversee the MB Book project, acting as the primary point of contact for the publisher

Social media:

  • develop the social media strategy
  • curate output across all channels including Instagram and LinkedIn

Brand development:

  • oversee brand development
  • oversea marketing collateral – brochures, business cards, project books etc

Networking/events:

  • identify opportunities at industry events to position MB as thought leaders
  • organising studio events including, press events and client lunches

The person

  • someone who has strong self-management, initiative and a sense of responsibility
  • a team player attitude, entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to pitch in where help is needed
  • continuously seeking to learn and improve
  • able to work alone or as part of a team

Must have

  • one plus years of relevant experience in a support role in an architectural practice
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • highly skilled in professional software, such as Outlook, Excel and Word
  • knowledge of Adobe Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign
  • impeccable organisation skills and attention to detail
  • strong self-management, initiative and sense of responsibility
  • seek continuous improvement and learning opportunities
