Ben Thompson is hiring a junior designer to join its team in London.
Junior designer
We are looking for a creative, empathetic and curious junior designer who has strong organisation skills, self-motivating and resourceful. The ideal candidate should enjoy being collaborative and enthusiastic about getting things done as part of a close team that provides earnest support and assistance to each other.
We are looking for an individual who feels aligned with the studio aesthetic and ethos.
This is a full-time position.
Qualifications and skills:
- degree or equivalent in interior design/interior architecture
- two plus years relevant experience
- proficiency using Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite
- passion for both interior design and FF&E with understanding of suppliers, products and finishes
- technical understanding and experience in producing drawings
- understanding of project programmes and deadlines
- fluent in spoken and written English
- ability to work in the UK

Ben Thompson is a London-based design company specialising in interior design, architecture and brand creation. Founded in 2011 by British designer, Ben Thompson, Ben has over fifteen years’ experience within the high-end residential and hospitality sectors, including five years as studio director at Studioilse.
Most recognised for designing the award-winning hotel Heckfield Place, the growing team is quietly delivering a diverse range of projects across the globe with a particular focus on understanding and reinvigorating rural estates; re-establishing or reinventing existing buildings as an important part of the process.
The studio’s signature aesthetic is one of understated elegance and effortless design, resulting in a lightness of impact that subtly speaks of the people and places at the core of the projects. Ben Thompson projects are distinct for their breadth of scope, encompassing not just architecture and interior design but also place-making, brand-creation and experience-building.
Ben Thompson offers a four-day working week and this role is studio-based three days per week based in their West London studio. Ben Thompson also provides an inspiring studio space and team lunches two days per week, lovingly made by our team cook in our studio kitchen.
