Architectural assistant

Propter Italy Srl is looking for an architectural assistant for rural development in Sicily, Italy.
We are seeking a passionate junior architect with a high level of architecture software skills to collaborate with our team of senior architects and designers on a commercial rural development in Sicily for a wellness retreat stretching over 17 hectares of land and 3000 sqm of built up structures. You will have the unique opportunity to explore and integrate AI tools that can enhance our design process, making it more efficient and innovative. Additionally, you will work closely with our senior architect to transform hand sketches into detailed 3D models, including the integration of materials and landscaping elements.
Duration: two months from 1 September to end of October, with expected commitment of 16 hours per week and flexible working hours
Type of compensation: partial compensation
Key responsibilities:
- use Archicad software to create accurate and detailed 3D models
- produce high-quality renders using V-Ray or equivalent software to visualise and communicate design proposals effectively
- collaborate with our senior architect to translate hand sketches into 3D models, considering materials, landscape elements and sustainable design principles
- explore and implement AI tools and possibilities to optimise the design process and improve overall efficiency
- conduct research and sourcing for recycled and sustainable materials suitable for the project’s development
- participate in discussions and contribute creative ideas during design meetings and brainstorming sessions
- assist in the development of presentation materials to be submitted to the municipality for project approval
- contribute to the restoration and redesign of buildings using locally sourced materials, such as stone and wood, to maintain architectural heritage
- collaborate with the team to ensure that the project aligns with sustainable design practices and principles
Requirements:
- proficiency in Archicad software for 3D modelling
- demonstrated interest and understanding of rural developments, experiential retreats and sustainable design
- knowledge of AI tools and their application in architecture or related fields is a plus
- strong visual communication skills and the ability to produce high-quality renders
- excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the project team
- an adaptable and proactive attitude towards learning new skills and integrating innovative ideas
This role is open to applicants from diverse educational backgrounds, including architecture, illustration or related disciplines.
The location is flexible but preferably based in Sweden or London.
