About the role

As a leader of the architecture practice, an associate architect is regarded as a leader of the firm who is responsible for leading a station design team on MTR projects in Hong Kong. Please note that periodically you may be asked to undertake activities outside of those listed below:

• assists principal in negotiating fees and other terms of engagements as well as managing multiple or complex engagements profitably
• identifies opportunities and prepares winning submissions using appropriate Hassell tools
• high level of design expertise in urban transport sector
• directs and supervises architectural and consultant teams for small to large and complex projects
• maintains and strengthens team client relationships, actively seeks feedback on performance of the team and modifies approach to ensure client satisfaction
• completes project assumptions and risks (PARs) assessment and projections for a number of projects monitoring resource requirements and identifying timely opportunities for resource placements
• encourages responsible and well-informed decisions based on gaining an understanding of the benefits and consequences of project outcome
• shares information on plans and progress of the discipline and/or studio with team members
• complies with and contributes to documentation and design technology standards

About you

• optimally over ten years’ experience focused on urban transport sector, including five-plus years’ metro station design experience
• strong Revit skills with a working knowledge of relevant Microsoft Office and design technologies software
• strong communication skills, ability to work with major clients and stakeholders to consult and present
• strong business development and marketing skills
• a proven ability to win and manage work profitability
• strong experience and skills in the management of finances, resources and personnel at a senior level
• strongly self-motivated and tenacious
• committed to the development of a strong design culture
• where relevant, registered as an architect
