Material Index is seeking Part 2 architectural assistants with a focus on sustainability to join its growing team in London or remotely.
Material Index is focussed on enabling material reuse at scale in the construction industry. We offer services in material audits and materials brokering, supported by our end-to-end proprietary platform to deliver circularity on built environment projects. This platform is also available to third parties under licence.
The team consists of architects, engineers and software developers working in close proximity in a collaborative, fast-moving and stimulating studio environment.
We are seeking Part 2 architectural assistants to join us in a range of activities including audits, research and digital product design.
In order of preference we are looking for the following characteristics: conscientiousness, sociability, intelligence, curiosity and drive.
We would be a good fit if you have at least two of the following interests: circularity, current and historic construction technologies, built environment sustainability and built environment digital technologies.
What you will do:
- site-based surveying
- client and project management
- design team presentations
- materials research
- supply chain relationships
- digital product testing
Desirable skills:
- a diverse software skill set including Revit and OneClick LCA
- data visualisation and graphic design
Training will be provided and the role will involve working with design professionals on a wide range of tasks and projects. Developing circularity will become increasingly important to society and the profession. However, applicants should be aware that opportunities for undertaking spatial design will be relatively limited.
The salary will be dependent on experience. There is room for extensive professional growth and development within the company.
Material Index is committed to running a sustainable company and all staff are expected to engage in professional discourse. We welcome people from all backgrounds with the relevant sensibilities and aptitude. All appointments will be made on the merit of skill and experience relative to the role. Any offer of employment with Material Index will be conditional upon having the right to work in the UK.
