Jess O’Grady Design is looking for an interior design assistant/junior interior designer to join the growing team of its studio in London.

Jess O’Grady Design is a small but rapidly growing studio working on high-end private residential and developments across the UK. The studio is based in Shoreditch, London and currently working on a number of exciting residential projects including county estates and high-end London townhouses. Our work focusses on infusing traditional English design with contemporary twists to create warm and inviting homes that perfectly fit our client’s lifestyles and personalities.

This job is perfect for a friendly hard-working multitasker who is highly organised and have a strong attention to detail and a conscientious, proactive approach to all areas of the design process. As the studio is growing, there is ample opportunity for you to make this position your own and grow within the business to involved in projects at a higher level.

This role will be based at our studio in Shoreditch, London, with the possibility of some remote working.

Responsibilities:

  • liaise with suppliers – quotes, orders, logistics
  • be able to create client ready presentations when required
  • great efficiency in keeping specifications, schedules and sampling up to date across the timeline of a project
  • keeping sample library up to date in studio
  • source specific products and items required for schemes
  • strong communication skills to manage clients, suppliers and trades
  • organise photoshoots when required
  • have onsite experience, handling various contractors and arranging studio and site meetings throughout the stages of projects
  • great ability to multitask and work independently and as a team
  • conscientious and willing to get stuck in wherever required (but still have loads of fun)

Skills:

  • BA in interior design/architecture or equivalent industry experience
  • a minimum of one year working experience and must be proficient with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Word, Excel and Estimac
  • knowledge of suppliers of furniture, fabrics and hard finishes
  • essential to hold a full clean driving license and a confident driver within the UK
  • excellent creativity, attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • ability to work as part of a fast-paced team
  • fluent in English
