Due to continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a technical product developer. We are seeking an exceptional candidate with a keen interest in interior design and strong technical skills to join our product team based in our Farnham head office to help create new products from concept to prototype.
What you’ll do:
- clearly and accurately take concept brief and sketches, translate into a 3D CAD model and produce technical drawings for the design team
- oversee in house prototyping and head up 3D printing and spearhead new prototyping techniques
- ensure all technical drawings and 3D models are available prior to launch
- working closely alongside the product coordinators to collate of new collection packs for production and marketing teams and new collection training to go alongside this
- heavily involved in product training
- liaising with assembly manager giving guidance technical requirements and specific assembly details
- working collaboratively on lighting methods of product, bulb specifications and introducing new technologies
- produce general assembly drawings for all product
- visually show the make-up of each product through exploded drawings
- creation of product BOMs for hand over to the senior product coordinator
- creating, upkeeping and maintaining sales and marketing product data, including data sheets, installation instructions, 2D/3D drawings, US Consignment display drawings
- assist with setting out drawing for launch displays and shows as well as partner showrooms
- act as a key resource for custom and bespoke producing drawings for client sign off and advising on feasibility of projects
- drawings for adaptions to existing pieces for client sign off or production, and for bespoke shade production
- management of product review, collating suggestions, organising meetings, confirming action points and following up to completion
- ensure all new product meets all necessary standards including UK, UL and CCC
- taking responsibility for retrospectively bringing existing product up to these standards
- assist in the scoping out the product lifecycle including packaging design
What you’ll need:
- experience in developing designs from creative concept to manufacture
- with a degree a relevant degree, eg. product design or engineering
- an impressive knowledge of materials
- excellent AutoCAD, Solidworks and the Adobe Suite
- good understanding of 3D printing software, including Blender, Cura, Meshmixer
- ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- good technical knowledge
- proven track recorded of delivering on projects
- strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- ability to work independently as well as part of a team
