We have an exciting opportunity for a project architect to join our dynamic team and contribute to our growing reputation for high quality and excellence. This role is for a full time, permanent position in our Edinburgh studio who are leading a wide range of flagship Passivhaus and retrofit public sector projects. The position would suit someone that enjoys detailing and delivery, has technical rigour and has experience leading projects through technical design and site delivery.

We have an open pay scale and equitable PayScale, which for this position ranges from £37,000 to £46,000 per annum for 3-to-12-year post Part 3 qualification.

Collective Architecture is an 100 per cent employee owned architectural practice, working across studios in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee. Our 45-strong practice was founded over 20-years ago on principles of creative freedom, equity and sustainability.

The person we are looking for:

  • a minimum of three-year post Part 3 qualification experience (six-plus years is preferred)
  • experience of designing and delivering Passivhaus accredited projects would be advantageous as we are actively developing our skills and resource in this area
  • experience of delivering residential projects and supported housing projects would be advantageous, although not essential
  • thorough demonstrable knowledge of technical construction and detailing in the UK
  • good understanding of UK planning polices and building regulations
  • confident and proficient in Revit
  • excellent design skills and presentation ability
  • excellent communication and confidence in working with clients, consultants and wider communities
  • ability to self-manage, be self-motivated, work independently and meet/set deadlines with an awareness of profitability and time
  • ability to make clear and consistent decisions with integrity
  • ability to support the practice to design and innovate in a collaborative way
  • enjoys working as part of a team and collaborating in a collegiate way
  • agility to work across a range of projects, work stages and sectors, and to both lead and support
