David Chipperfield Architects is seeking a front of house (FOH) coordinator to join its London office.

Due to the nature of the role, this is a full-time, London-based position.

You will enjoy a front-facing, people-focussed role where you will host visitors, answer the phone and support the wider studio with a variety of support requests. You will also be a confident communicator and be comfortable interacting with a diverse range of people, from VIP studio visitors to new starters ensuring a positive and professional interaction for all individuals arriving, during and on departure from the studio. You will be friendly and enjoy getting to know staff and collaborators.
About the role
Front of house
Your role will be to anticipate and address client and visitor inquiries, concerns and special requests. You will also manage office incoming calls, emails, post and deliveries, redirecting or responding as necessary.
Maintaining a clean, organised and inviting reception area and promoting a clean working environment throughout the office is key and you will work with other operational staff to ensure the studio remains organised and set up for efficient working.
You may occasionally be required to host inductions for new staff covering access to the office and basic health and safety.
Meeting room coordination
As the FOH coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining an overview of all meetings and events happening in the office, coordinate meeting room bookings and ensuring rooms are set up with the necessary equipment and are tidied between meetings.
You will work closely with other operational and IT staff, assisting with technical setup, troubleshooting AV equipment and providing technical support if required as well as arranging catering, refreshments and other special requests for meetings and events.
Administrative support
The operations team works across the practice on a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth day-to day running of the studio. You will be involved in managing general office requests via the internal support portal and manage a variety of requests throughout the day.
You will also be involved in supporting the office with general administrative duties, including filing, document management and maintaining office supplies, assisting the facilities and hospitality manager and other team members with tasks as needed.
Being confident to support with other roles during periods of staff absence is important to us, your role may include covering for other operational support roles in the instance of absence or annual leave.
What about you?
- two-plus years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a creative or hospitality focused environment excellent administrative and organisational skills
- proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite
- excellent communication skills, fluent spoken and written English
- assertive and well-organised, with a meticulous attention to detail
- able to work in a fast-paced environment
