An exciting opportunity for a project architect has opened within Studio Hagen Hall in East London. This role will play a key part in the growth of the business while bringing high-quality design and architectural skills to the studio. About you:

  • eligible to work in the UK
  • one to three years’ post-Part 3 residential experience within the UK
  • membership to ARB/RIBA
  • a proven ability to lead projects across all RIBA work stages
  • experienced on-site and in contract administration
  • a solid understanding of relevant UK legislation, contracts and building regulations
  • a clear, open and honest communicator – excellent spoken and written English skills are a must to effectively collaborate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • proactive and enthusiastic in your approach to design
  • excellent design and presentation skills
  • high-level experience with Vectorworks (3D ability desirable), SketchUp (V-Ray desirable) and Adobe Creative Suite
  • experience with Google Workspace beneficial
  • a proven ability in technical detailing, specification, material selection and a clear sense of value for money without sacrificing beautiful design
  • a strong interest in pursuing sustainability and respect for the environment in each and every project, as well as a proven technical understanding of sustainability and its impact on design
  • proven creative problem-solving skills
  • attention to detail
  • strong interest in interior design/interior architecture
  • curious, hungry to learn and interested in the continuing development of the studio
  • ability to be autonomous but conscientious enough to work collaboratively
  • a keen interest in post-war/mid-century/modernist design is a plus!

Roles and responsibilities

This role is for a project architect to work alongside the director on several high-end residential projects. You will be liaising directly with clients and suppliers, communicating both internally and externally with the project team, and delivering packages from inception to completion of the project.

You will be expected to:

  • liaise directly on all aspects of the project (client, planning officers, contractor, consultants, etc.)
  • work closely with the Director on all aspects of design (conceptual, detailed, etc.)
  • coordinate project design programming/timetabling/costing
  • manage the project within the studio
  • create specifications (materials, lighting, etc.)
  • create presentation drawings and documents
  • administer contracts
  • supervise/manage projects on site

Salary

£45,000 per annum. This role is being offered as full-time employment.
