Whitespace Architects is looking for a design architect to join its team in Dubai, UAE.
Design architect (mid- to senior level)
Working closely with a team of young and enthusiastic architects the successful candidate will possess a strong design aesthetic, proven ability to design and work independently on small to larger scale projects and instruct junior architects in day to day tasks. As a designer architect, you will have to demonstrate capability in running projects from concept through to completion, with experience in instructing a small team as well as liaising with clients and consultants. You will be working closely with the directors, in an open, friendly and collaborative studio environment. Revit experience is preferred but not essential.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following:
- proven ability to use own judgment and analysis for both architectural and interior projects.
- excellent communication and time management skills
- experience in the sustainable design of tall towers, commercial, large mixed use developments, hospitality and residential projects
- must be proficient in the use of computer design and thoroughly understand Revit Architecture, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, Architectural Desktop and other programs required for design and drafting
- proven ability to work independently on small to larger scale projects and instruct junior architects in day to day tasks
- technical understanding of building engineering and strong detail skills
- knowledge about region’s building regulations and local authorities
- excellent communication and time management skills
Additional requirements
- Master or Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited university and a minimum experience of five years in architecture
- passionate about architecture and design
- strong modern and contemporary design aesthetic
- ambitious and team player
Preference will be given to candidates who are:
- locally available
- experienced in using BIM software such as Revit Architecture as a design tool
- previous experience gained within a consultancy firm and within the Gulf region
