Malcolm Reading Consultants (MRC) is seeking a graphic designer to join its team in London.
We are the leading specialist in international design competitions and work for top-tier cultural and educational clients. Recent projects include competitions for Adelaide Contemporary, the Royal College of Art, the Cambridge to Oxford Connection, Museum of London, Tintagel Castle Bridge, New College, Oxford and the Mumbai City Museum.
The communications’ power and visual appeal of our project materials are key elements in attracting the world’s most talented and ambitious architects to our competitions.
We are looking for a highly-motivated graphic designer who is a good team-worker with communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work speedily under pressure.
The role involves:
- producing print and digital documents, exhibition materials and digital presentations
- advising on and creating visual identity for our competitions and marketing materials
- being responsible for all visual materials in the office
- dealing with printers
- supporting our external website consultant
Good proofreading and interpersonal skills are essential. When the team is very busy you should be prepared to share general office tasks such as answering the phone.
The successful candidate should have:
- three years’ relevant experience
- a team attitude plus an interest in understanding projects and audiences
- strong communication skills in written and spoken English
- a flair for typography
- previous design training, such as a graphic design degree or equivalent
- strong graphic software skills including Adobe Creative Suite and MS Powerpoint
- Microsoft Office is also required
- web skills would be desirable
- video skills a plus
We are a small friendly office based in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, near Holborn Underground station.
