Poliform is recruiting a design and project manager to join its team in London.
The company
Poliform UK is a design-led company based in King’s Road and Wigmore Street, London. Poliform are world leaders in wardrobes, library systems, kitchens and complements for the whole home and are currently looking for a design and project manager to join its expanding team in London’s Kings Road.
The role
The role would suit an ambitious and driven person who is looking to be part of a prestigious brand and to grow within the bespoke division through his/her positive and professional contribution. The role is both technical and administrative and it combines design and technical skills with the ability to organise workload efficiently to facilitate the smooth running of the projects.
You will have a minimum of five years’ experience working on high-end projects in a design and project management role. You will be experienced in preparing detailed drawings, presentations and quotations as well as managing live project from design to completion. You will be able to meet clients and discuss design changes. You will be a good communicator and a dynamic individual who is used to working in the office and on site. You will able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards. A proactive and flexible approach is required as the role covers a variety of types and phases of the project.
Duties:
- supporting the head of bespoke and the bespoke team in all the tasks and activities aimed at promoting the bespoke department and maximising sales
- involvement in all the tasks required to run the projects
- awareness of department workload and active contribution
- design: producing detailed technical drawings and presentations to highest standards, revising drawings, liaising with production regarding technical solutions, producing different sets of drawings for specific purposes
- accuracy and attention to detail when finalising prints and designs
- presentation: attending client meetings and interpreting discussions
- producing inspiring presentations including visuals and technical information
- presentation skills and ability to understand a brief and to explain and present ideas
- quotation: preparing quotations for the projects for standard and bespoke products
- estimating, collating information from different sources and preparing costings
- order processing: sending orders to production and checking confirmations
- project management: managing projects from design through completion
- coordinating suppliers, production, accounts, installation teams, site managers
- liaising strategically with different parties involved in the project (architect, supplier, contractor and client)
- issuing detailed reports following site visits and client meetings
- dealing with clients in a professional manner
- filing and correspondence
- requirements
- five-plus years’ experience in a similar role
- good command of the English language and familiarity with industry terminology
- experience in kitchens, wardrobes and bespoke joinery and FF&E
- organisation skills, time management, multitasking skills, problem solving, ability to work in a team, meeting deadlines, ability to manage several projects at a time and work under pressure, strategic thinking, ability to take directions and work towards department objectives, excellent communication skills and analytical thinking, proactive approach and involvement in the tasks required to achieve a given objective, eye for design; interest in design trends and the design community, positive outlook – self-motivation – self-learning

- Adobe InDesign/Photoshop and Illustrator

- proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- knowledge of construction methods and materials, and methods of surveying and inspection
- experience in setting up of FF&E schedules
- ability to review, analyse, and make recommendations on designs, architectural plans, and specifications and tender documents
