Whitby Wood is hiring a senior structural engineer to join its team in Bristol, UK.
Whitby Wood is looking for a senior structural engineer who is passionate about sustainability, and keen to work in a collaborative environment. We have a position available in our Bristol office. This is a terrific opportunity to join a thriving practice – and contribute to overall business development through involvement in our internal development groups.
You will need to be a dab hand with a pencil, and understand how to get your sketches built. You will also need to be able to command the respect of colleagues and clients, and experienced in successfully leading teams across a number of projects. This capability should be matched by excellent interpersonal skills, and a readiness to represent us at meetings with clients and architects.
The ideal candidate digits and skills:
- six to eight years’ experience, with minimum one years’ experience at an established engineering practice in the UK
- chartered with ICE or IStructE
- strong interest in architecture and the relationship between structural engineering and architectural design
- ability and enjoyment in communicating with a pencil, taking sketch to constructed frame : understanding how one leads to the other
- a portfolio of built projects
- proficiency in Revit, ETABS, SAFE and Rhino preferred
