Studio McLeod is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

We are looking for a Part II architectural assistant with technical experience in a UK practice, who is motivated, thoughtful and has a passion for learning and crafting beautifully considered buildings. We are looking for someone who is interested in all aspects of the profession, including the interaction of design, making and people. You will be involved in all aspects of our projects, working on private residential remodelling and new build projects.

Required skills and experience

Please highlight these in your portfolio or cover letter:

  • Part 2 qualification
  • experience working in a UK architectural practice
  • UK private residential design experience
  • knowledge of UK Building Regulations and technical documentation
  • material specification and detailing
  • 3D modelling
  • clear communication skills
  • ability to work carefully and proactively within a team

Preferred skills and experience:

  • quick to learn and adapt to systems and software
  • interest and understanding of how things go together
  • proactive and confident in both independent and teamwork
  • skilled in producing sketch, presentation and technical drawings
  • good presentation and time management skills
  • ability to become proficient in Vectorworks within four weeks
  • proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Word, Excel and hand sketching

Vectorworks experience would be preferable, but training and support can be provided. An interest in progressing towards Part 3 would be welcomed, and we can provide support and professional development across all work stages.
