Koichi Takada Architects is the eponymous architecture and interior design firm founded in 2008. The practice is based in Sydney and Doha, with upcoming offices in Tokyo and Los Angeles. Its close-knit team is made up of architects, interior designers and technicians.
Completed projects include a number of mixed-use, residential, retail, hospital and cultural buildings. Its area of expertise is in creating multi-residential spaces. The studio has worked across Australia, New York, London and Qatar.
The studio designed two cave-like gift shops (pictured above) inside Jean Nouvel's National Museum of Qatar in Doha, which feature soaring wooden walls that create a series of cavernous enclosures from stacked wooden profiles.
