Italian architects Filippo Gabbiani and Andrea Destefanis founded Kokaistudios in Venice in 2000. The firm has since relocated to Shanghai and has grown to a team of over 60 design experts, with backgrounds in architecture and interior design.

The firm develops cultural, corporate, commercial, hospitality and retail projects across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America. The studio specialises in urban regeneration projects involving the requalification of heritage locations.
