Stephen Burks founded his eponymous design studio Stephen Burks Man Made in 2003.

The studio primarily focuses on industrial and furniture design projects. Headquartered in New York, Stephen Burks Man Made often works in parallel with artisanal makers around the globe.

The studio has been commissioned to develop design solutions for a number of high-profile clients, including Estee Lauder and Calvin Klein.

Pictured above is KIDA, a hanging lounge chair designed by Burks for outdoor furniture brand Dedon. The lightweight chair is composed of curved aluminium rods wrapped in vibrant, weather-resistant rope that is both recyclable and non-toxic.
