Aesop is hiring a store design and construction manager for the Americas in New York.

Position purpose
The manager of store design and development is responsible for the delivery of each new retail door in the Americas, from design through to the completion of construction and hand-over to retail operations. In close collaboration with the global retail design manager, this role will manage internal or external designs from the briefing stage, and will be expected to propose distinctive, intelligent, and elaborate retail design concepts while achieving commercial and financial objectives and adhering to the design and operational framework of Aesop. This role is also responsible for developing strategy, systems and processes around retail planning and development that will be a basis for future opportunities.
Skills and experience:
- bachelor’s degree in architecture or the equivalent experience
- previous experience in bespoke retail design and project management or similar
- 7-10 years’ progressive experience in architecture and project management
- 3-5 years’ experience in a management position
- previous experience of retail project construction in the USA
- hands-on, with the ability to show initiative and pro-actively present and escalate ideas, process improvements, and problems, to ensure outstanding results
- high-level of appreciation of the need to work within set budgets and timeframes
- working knowledge of architecture-specific design programs (AutoCAD, Rhino, etc.)
- creative with strong attention to detail and design aesthetic
- strong written and verbal communication skills
