Interior designer
Belzberg Architects is searching for a thoughtful and enthusiastic individual to join our team of intrepid designers. This is a full-time position and prior experience working between interior design and architecture is needed. The ideal candidate will be able to navigate seamlessly from the larger architectural problem to an intimate furnishing detail. A minimum of four years’ experience with high-end single-family custom homes is mandatory. Experience with commercial, cultural and hospitality projects is a plus.
Responsibilities will include:
- design, coordination, client meetings, presentations, site visits, full-scale mockups, FFE selection, purchasing, installation etc. You will be involved in all aspects of the projects you work on. We believe this is the best way to promote professional growth
- working with the team closely. BA employees have the autonomy to complete work in whatever way they choose but will need to also stay connected to the team
- contributing to a creative and friendly office environment
Qualifications needed:
- a degree in interior design or architecture from an accredited institution
- self-starter and capable of multi-tasking
- a penchant for follow-through
- strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
- ability to work with a variety of personalities
- computer proficiency in a variety of programs including computer modelling and rendering is mandatory and proficiency in Autodesk Revit preferred
- experience with custom furniture and lighting fixture design and fabrication is mandatory
- experience with the design, sourcing, specification, procurement, and installation phases is mandatory
- experience working in interior design and architecture firms with similar types and high quality of work is mandatory
- possess a keen eye for simple, clean, clear design
- must have a positive and collaborative attitude
