Part 2 architectural assistant

Claridge Architects is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.
Claridge Architects is an award-winning, design-led practice based in Marble Arch, London, in business for 20 years and with projects in various cities in the UK. We are known for our contemporary, contextual, and sensitive designs predominantly in the residential and commercial sectors.
We are currently looking for a talented and enthusiastic Part 2 architectural assistant with a minimum of two years’ work experience in a UK practice. The successful candidates will be confident, friendly and efficient. We are a collaboration-oriented team, looking for someone enthusiastic about working as part of a dynamic and energetic team and happy to assist wherever required; so having a great personality is key.
You will be working on large-scale residential and co-living projects countrywide. The successful candidate(s) will assist with an expanding project portfolio, including high-end residential, mixed-use commercial and housing developments, student accommodation and education.
Role and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be working alongside the rest of the team on a variety of RIBA stages, from concept designs to technical stages as well as assisting with an expanding project portfolio, including mixed-use commercial and housing developments, student accommodation and co-living throughout the UK.
Candidates will receive exposure to front-end planning and especially technical stages, at an exciting time for the practice, including:
- producing drawings, models and documentation for planning applications, tenders and construction
- coordinating with the design team to source appropriate technical information, to feed into the architectural design
- preparing and participating in visually strong design presentations
Skills required:
- a strong portfolio, showcasing good drawing skills, preferably including medium to large residential projects
- good knowledge of the UK building regulations
- excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, illustrator)
- an ability to plan, prioritise and organise their workload
- ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure where required
- a good team player with good interpersonal skills
- proactive and solution-focused problem-solving attitude
- excellent English, both written and verbal and eligible to work in the UK
Optional skills:
- Vectorworks experience
- strong knowledge and experience in the UK Residential sector
- experience in working with BIM protocols
- 3D modelling experience (SketchUp)
- NBS specification writing
