London, UK
Part 2 architectural assistant/Part 3 architect
at Emil Eve Architects
Emil Eve Architects has an opportunity for an experienced Part 2 architectural assistant or recently qualified Part 3 architect to join its studio in east London.
We are currently working on a variety of projects throughout the UK including a number of private houses in London, the renovation of a church in Brighton, a woodland cabin in Yorkshire, a residential development in Suffolk and a history museum in Hampshire.
A strong design sensibility is required together with experience of working on historic buildings, an understanding of sustainability issues, excellent graphic, design and technical skills and knowledge of on-site construction.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to work through technical issues across all RIBA work stages and have a good knowledge of UK building regulations. Your job will entail liaising with clients, consultants, planners and the construction team so you should be confident, professional, friendly and a good team-worker.
Our studio uses Microstation, SketchUp, InDesign and Photoshop. Proficiency in these is preferred. Excellence in freehand sketching, good writing skills and fluency in English will be required. The right applicant will be organised, enthusiastic, friendly and ambitious.
The position could be full or part-time, depending on experience, and applicants should be UK-based. The role would suit someone who is keen to become a key member of the team and share in the direction of office. It is anticipated that the position will start with a freelance period followed by permanent employment and benefits.
Please email your CV and short portfolio (no more than 5MB) along with a brief cover letter/email detailing availability for the attention of Emma Perkin, using the ‘apply’ link below.
