Senior project architect
at MWAI

MWAI is seeking a senior project architect to join its team in London.

MWAI are looking for a Part 3 qualified architect or experienced Part 2 architectural assistant to join our London studio and work across a variety of different projects throughout the office. The ideal candidate is someone with experience, who enjoys both architecture and interiors, delivering projects, managing teams, getting involved, has a good eye for detail and enjoys residential work in complex context.

MWAI is a 10 strong practice based in Marylebone. We work mostly on the refurbishment and extension of homes in historic context and small developments in Central London. We are driven by a passion for design, sustainable retrofit, context and craft. MWAI is architecturally led, but also has a fledgling interior design practice, and small building firm. As a consequence, we work closely with contractors and regularly subcontract FF&E to artisans or work directly with suppliers to deliver our detailed interiors.

Office life is important also. We work hard when we need to, but we also want to enjoy our time in the office, nurture a positive work environment and make the most of life in Central London. We value the time spent in the studio working together, but equally see the benefit in flexible working. We have a generous holiday allowance, annual office trips, a defined career progression, pensions and annual performance bonuses.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • relevant experience in either high-end residential or heritage
  • RIBA Part 2 or Part 3 qualification or equivalent
  • minimum eight years’ relevant work experience, please
  • Vectorworks proficient
  • flair in technical production, design and/or running projects
