Studio Julian Charrière is seeking an experienced project manager to join its team in Berlin, Germany.
The candidate will work alongside the studio’s lead architect on a variety of projects, including artwork visualisation, development and implementation, exhibition designs, “percent for art” competitions, project-specific research and general project management.
The ideal applicant will have previous experience working on the scale of interior design and installation design, as well as in fabrication. Candidates must be highly motivated, independent problem-solvers and must feel comfortable working in fast-paced working environments.
The job is specifically directed to someone who is comfortable with project management: planning, supervising and executing projects, ensuring their effective and timely completion and making sure the project stays within the budget available.
The candidate should be able to coordinate the execution of projects within the internal production team, as well as external fabricators and maintain prompt communication with museums, galleries and institutions on design-related tasks.
About the artist
Julian Charrière is a French-Swiss artist based in Berlin, exploring ideas of nature and materiality through the lens of deep geological time. His work spans across different media and often emerges from field research in remote, geophysically distinct areas like volcanoes, ice fields and radioactive sites.
Charrière’s collaborations with scientists, engineers and philosophers has produced works that critically engage with ecological concerns and challenge how we perceive and engage with the natural world. His work has been exhibited internationally in prestigious institutions.
Required skills:
- 3D modelling – proficiency in Vectorworks/ArchiCAD and Rhinoceros; additional 3D software experience is a plu
- Adobe Suite – advanced skills in Photoshop and InDesign
- proficiency in MS-Office and G-Suite, particularly Excel
- effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms
- experience in creating reports and project documentation
- ability to manage multiple projects with different time horizons, set priorities and make decisions independently
- fluency in German and English, Italian is a plus
- a driving license is a strong advantage
Job conditions
The position is intended as a full-time job, but we are willing to be flexible for the right person.
Start is intended on 6 January 2025.
