Part 1 architectural assistant

Tate + Co has an opportunity for a Part 1 architectural assistant to join its practice, based in east London.

Our clients include developers, hotel and leisure operators, cultural institutions, education establishments and private individuals. Job description:
- generate high-impact innovative ideas, consider and introduce new approaches
- assist in anticipating trends and impacts of sustainability and regulatory factors on design work
- assist in the preparation of architectural design proposals and presentations at all stages of a project
- with a director or an architect meet with clients and construction professionals to discuss project objectives, budget and feasibility of designs; prepare meeting schedules, agendas and minutes as required
- assist in reviewing local rules and regulations to ensure the construction project falls within all constraints
- assist in the creation of drawings, detailed drawings, schedules and specifications for architectural projects
- use the computer-aided design software to create blueprints and images
- assist in the coordination of work between contractors, surveyors, engineers and design team to create a viable and deliverable design
- visit proposed locations and building sites as required
- assist in the resolution of issues that come up during construction
- participate in design reviews
Requirements:
- an interest in low-energy sustainable design
- outstanding communication and organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- good attention to detail
- skilled in hand drawing
- expertise in Revit, Sketch-up, Photoshop and Indesign
- excellent rendering skills (ie. Enscape or V-ray)
- fluent in written and spoken English

Salary: dependent on experience but will be competitive.
