Part 1 architectural assistant

Tate + Co has an opportunity for a Part 1 architectural assistant to join its practice, based in east London.

Our clients include developers, hotel and leisure operators, cultural institutions, education establishments and private individuals. Job description:

  • generate high-impact innovative ideas, consider and introduce new approaches
  • assist in anticipating trends and impacts of sustainability and regulatory factors on design work
  • assist in the preparation of architectural design proposals and presentations at all stages of a project
  • with a director or an architect meet with clients and construction professionals to discuss project objectives, budget and feasibility of designs; prepare meeting schedules, agendas and minutes as required
  • assist in reviewing local rules and regulations to ensure the construction project falls within all constraints
  • assist in the creation of drawings, detailed drawings, schedules and specifications for architectural projects
  • use the computer-aided design software to create blueprints and images
  • assist in the coordination of work between contractors, surveyors, engineers and design team to create a viable and deliverable design
  • visit proposed locations and building sites as required
  • assist in the resolution of issues that come up during construction
  • participate in design reviews

Requirements:

  • an interest in low-energy sustainable design
  • outstanding communication and organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • good attention to detail
  • skilled in hand drawing
  • expertise in Revit, Sketch-up, Photoshop and Indesign
  • excellent rendering skills (ie. Enscape or V-ray)
  • fluent in written and spoken English

Salary: dependent on experience but will be competitive.
