The Up Studio is seeking an interior designer to join its team in New York.

The Up Studio is a national award-winning architecture, interior and brand design studio that enhances people’s lives through concept-driven work. Our projects are customized to our clients’ needs, site specific and rooted in a thoughtful design strategy.

We believe that every design has a story to tell. To tell that story, we employ a multidisciplinary approach that combines broad ideas, diligent organization and innovative tools, presented within a coherent narrative.

We are looking for an interior designer to join our New York-based team.

Roles and responsibilities

Interior designers are responsible for drafting 3D models, crafting design presentations and ensuring that design intent and client needs are met throughout the life of the project. This role works directly with our project managers and project leader on interior tasks.

The typical day-to-day responsibilities for our junior interior designers include:

  • perform primary interior design assignments and work collaboratively with others toward design solutions
  • assist in the selection of finishing and furnishings
  • drafting 3D models via Archicad and Twinmotion
  • crafting presentation slides via Illustrator and Photoshop
  • sourcing reference images for theme and material presentations
  • sourcing, organizing and photographing physical material samples for client and studio library
  • creating, managing and updating project database
  • effectively working on multiple projects at once
  • providing frequent updates and feedback to the project leader on the project schedule as it relates to their tasks
  • assisting in project procurement, tracking and organizing shipments and project installation

Requirements:

  • two-plus years of experience in a role as interior designer (or similar)
  • experience working in Archicad full time
  • experience working in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
  • experience working in a procurement software
  • strong ability to communicate effectively and respectfully
  • ability to work from our Long Island City studio three days/wk (minimum)
  • must be legally authorized to work in the US

Employment details:

  • this is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk)
  • hybrid remote/in-person environment with three days/wk in-studio
  • typical working hours are 9:00am – 6:00pm, Mon – Fri
  • salary range between $55k – $75k
