Verpan is looking for an area sales manager – contract to join its team in Copenhagen, Denmark.

A rare opportunity to join Verpan, a premium and contemporary design brand that carries Verner Panton’s furniture, lighting and objects.

Position purpose

As part of our ambitious growth strategy, Verpan seeks an autonomous, business-savvy, and driven area sales manager to lead contract sales of Verner Panton’s iconic furniture and lighting designs in Scandinavia. This role offers a broad external playing field, focusing on expanding sales in the Scandinavian contract market. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract sales and a strong network within the architecture and design (A&D) industry, including architects, interior designers, and specifiers in lighting and furniture.

Areas of responsibility

With a genuine passion for sales and an operational mindset, you naturally create new opportunities through collaboration with our team and external partners such as distributors, specifiers and dealers. As an integral part of the organisation, you will nurture and cultivate client relationships with the goal of increasing contract sales in Scandinavia. This involves presenting to and visiting clients, as well as representing the Verpan brand at events and fairs. Regularly following up on active and prospective proposals and offers, you will frequently advise clients from concept to completed project.

By cultivating a strong knowledge of the Verpan brand and Verner Panton’s designs, you will identify, pitch, and execute new opportunities in the Scandinavian market, including developing new customer segments across the region. You will ensure the successful execution of B2B projects and processes.

The ideal candidate

You have a background in sales within the design industry, with ideal experience in the contract market, and are comfortable connecting and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders. You will join a non-hierarchical and dynamic organisation characterised by high energy, mutual respect and independence. In this role, you will work closely with customer care, buyers, the sales team and other departments.

You have a high energy level, competitive and eager to win with your colleagues and external partners. You are detail-oriented with a strong technical understanding of the products you work with, and you are highly proficient in both written and spoken Danish and English. A general understanding of other Scandinavian languages is a plus.

Being sales-driven is essential to this role, along with a passion for maintaining and expanding your network. You are known for being self-motivated, thorough, and proactive, viewing sales as a craft worth mastering. Additionally, you excel at building new relationships and are a strong communicator who thrives on finding solutions in a fast-paced and ever-evolving market. You are persistent and comfortable with taking the initiative, working actively to maintain a strong dialogue with both current and prospective clients.
