London, UK
Part 1/2 architectural assistant
at Yinka Ilori Studio
Yinka Ilori Studio is looking for a Part 1/2 architectural assistant to join its practice in London.
Yinka Ilori is a London based multidisciplinary artist of a British-Nigerian heritage, who specialises in storytelling by fusing his British and Nigerian heritage to tell new stories in contemporary design. He began his practice in 2013 up-cycling vintage furniture, inspired by the traditional Nigerian parables and West African fabrics that surrounded him as a child.
Yinka Ilori Studio was established in 2017 following a successful pitch to transform the Thessaly Road Bridge. The studio now consists of a team of colour-obsessed architects and designers, with the expertise and capacity to take on large-scale architectural and interior design projects. The studio continues to experiment with the relationship between function and form, with an output that sits between traditional divisions of art and design.
We are seeking an experienced part-time Part 1 or Part 2 architect to join our studio in London to work on a range of exciting projects internationally. Applicants should demonstrate project coordination and be keen to take on responsibility across all stages of this very special project.
Your job will entail liaising with clients, consultants, planners and the construction team so you should be confident, professional, friendly and a good team-worker.
Our office uses Vectorworks, SketchUp Pro, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Proficiency in these, as well as freehand sketching, good writing skills and fluency in speaking and writing English will be required (French-speaking would be a bonus).
Highly competitive salary – dependent on experience.
