Whitby Wood is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated structures associate who is passionate about sustainability, and keen to work in a collaborative environment. This is a terrific opportunity to join the lively London hub of a diverse and growing practice, taking responsibility for and nurturing a project team. You will be joining a practice committed to individual enterprise and creativity plus disciplined team endeavour.
Core responsibilities
- take technical and financial responsibility for multiple projects – act as ‘project manager’ as defined by Whitby Wood
- participate in Quarterly Management Meetings
- carry out PDRs where delegated from associate director
- lead and be responsible for proposals for new projects
- act as an ambassador for Whitby Wood to external clients
- ensure that sustainability is at the heart of all work
- ensure that team members are comparing structural options and materials and undertaking carbon calculations to help find the lowest carbon solutions and try to reduce the environmental impact of projects
Qualifications and experience:
- eight years’ experience
- have a degree (or equivalent) in a suitable engineering discipline
- chartered with ICE or IstructE or equivalent level
- a portfolio of built projects
