The British Museum is hiring a programme manager to join its team in London.

About the role

In this exciting role at the British Museum, the postholder will lead on the programme management of capital projects within the Grade I listed building to time and budget, whilst keeping the Museum open to millions of visitors per year. Projects include high-profile, innovative front-of-house projects, to building and MEPh engineering infrastructure renewal.

The British Museum is seeking to recruit 2 programme managers on a permanent contract.

The programme managers will work with senior stakeholders to lead and manage the project teams responsible for planning and delivering estates projects within the estates and capital projects department. The role is responsible for leading a programme of projects and driving the planning, delivery, programme, cost and quality dimensions.

About you

Educated to degree level, or equivalent, the successful candidate will possess a relevant professional qualification and will have demonstrable experience in a large-scale organisation, and experience working within Grade I listed buildings. With experience of coordinating complex projects, you will be delivery focused and will be able to successfully manage budgets.

We are looking for self-motivated and highly organised individuals, who can maintain a flexible and creative approach to finding solutions for complex problems. A strong communicator, you will be confident in diplomatically dealing with a variety of stakeholders including senior management.
