Juliana Custers is hiring an interior architect to join its team in London.
Juliana Custers Interiors is a growing interior architecture and design studio working on high-end residential projects across London, with opportunities for international travel. We create soulful, design-led homes rooted in architectural storytelling, craftsmanship and materiality.
We are now looking for a freelance mid-weight/senior designer to join our studio-based team.
Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a Part 2/Part 3 architectural designer, architect or interior designer with strong technical ability, a deep love of interiors, and proven experience delivering detailed, high-quality residential projects.
You will be confident working across interior architecture, joinery and construction, and comfortable operating in a small, collaborative studio.
The role
You will work closely alongside the Project Lead and Creative Director, supporting the delivery of multiple residential projects at varying scales. The role is predominantly interiors-focused with a strong architectural and technical emphasis.
You will be responsible for:
- preparing detailed technical drawing packages
- producing tender and joinery documentation
- supporting design development from concept through to construction
- liaising with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers
- occasionally attending client meetings
- producing high-quality 2D and 3D presentation drawings
- contributing to visual storytelling and design communication
- working closely with the wider team on a daily basis
- you will play an important role in translating beautiful design ideas into technically robust, buildable projects
Skills and experience required:
- previous experience producing tender and joinery documentation (essential)
- strong technical drawing skills with the ability to clearly communicate design intent
- AutoCAD proficiency essential
- high proficiency in 3D software: SketchUp/Rhino/Enscape/3DS Max advantageous
- rendering capability advantageous but not essential
- experience collaborating with FF&E and specification teams
- strong written and spoken English, with confidence presenting work
- proven ability to work closely with senior designers in a small team environment
- a genuine passion for interior design and architecture
- right to work in the UK (essential)
Location and working pattern:
- studio-based role in Wimbledon, SW19
- in-studio working required initially (remote working not available at present)
- start date: ASAP
- salary/day rate: DOE
