Description
Heritage specialists Simpson & Brown are looking for a talented and experienced bid manager, with a strong background in marketing/communications and social media, to join our expanding team of award-winning architects, heritage consultants and archaeologists.
Simpson & Brown are an award-winning practice working on creative design projects in sensitive sites across the United Kingdom and oversees. We are renowned for our high-quality work and are currently shortlisted for the RIAS Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award.
Role
We are looking for a full-time bid coordinator to join us and provide bid support to our senior team at our Edinburgh studio. You will be instrumental in creating compelling bid proposals, co-ordinating the submission of pre-qualification questionnaires and tender submissions.
The role will include:
- monitoring procurement portals to identify potential opportunities and obtaining and distributing tender documents as appropriate
- manage bids timetable
- prepare bid evaluation documents and bid document plans
- uploading tenders to procurement portals correctly and ahead of deadlines
- providing administrative support for bids including liaising with consultants, arranging meetings, collating bid information and tracking bids
- work on the look and feel of bid documents
- using our InDesign templates to produce tender documents of consistent quality
- providing generic answers and company information for pre-qualification questionnaires and invitation to tenders
- working up bespoke responses
- ensuring our bid library is up to date
- proof reading submissions
- preparing case studies and CVs
- completing SPD questionnaires
Collate and record bid feedback and record successful bid responses
Person Specification:
Essential:
- a minimum of one year’s of experience in a bids role, preferably within the construction or architecture industry
- strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills and verbal communication skills
- experience with formatting and printing bid documents
- familiarity with UK tendering processes
- excellent time management, organisational skills, and ability to prioritise
- ability to work in a team and collaborate with colleagues to produce high-quality bids
- a team mentality and flexible attitude
- attention to detail
- ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines
- confidence in supporting senior staff
- demonstrable proof-reading experience
- advanced Microsoft Office skills
- strong administration and organisational skills
Desirable:
- degree qualified in marketing, english, or graphic design
- association of bid proposal management professionals (APMP) practitioner (or working towards)
- Adobe InDesign skills strongly desirable
- copy writing/publishing experience
