Object Atelier is seeking a furniture designer to join its team in London.
Skills and experience:
Object Atelier are looking for a Designer to join our small but ever-growing team. The candidate should have at least two yeaof rs previous experience designing furniture and joinery packages using Solidworks. The candidate should be a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with a keen eye for detail.
- two years’ experience working on furniture and joinery packages
- a good knowledge of Solidworks and Swood
- a good understanding of furniture manufacturing techniques
- able to model joinery in 3D
- able to complete client drawings and keep files up to date with schedules and finishes
- competent at altering drawings to client comments
- good knowledge of producing manufacturing drawings through Swood
- knowledge of working with different materials
- good communication skills
- able to take clear instructions from Senior designers and Design lead
- forward thinking
- ability to work in a small but growing company
- problem solver
- team player
As a small company, we would also need the candidate to be happy to adapt to the different roles within the company. Furniture making is the heart of what we do, and a tight connection between workshop and office is essential.
