Haberdashery London is seeking a senior sales manager to join its team in London.

Haberdashery London is an award winning London based design studio and lighting brand.

As a senior sales manager the core accountabilities of your role will be focused on growing the sales of our Collection through BTB and BTC networks.

As a key member of the team your knowledge and experience will be integral to the growth of the business and meeting the ambitions we have for our collection.

As a small team we have a shared responsibility for contributing to the success of the department and business overall. This not only includes commercial success but also customer satisfaction and product excellence.

Key accountabilities

Team:

  • responsible for line management of junior sales team members ensuring their performance meets agreed expectations

New business development:

  • collaborate with the department head to formulate a NBD strategy for given market/s to facilitate long term growth
  • implement NBD strategy for given market with the support of department head and other departments as required
  • define and implement account strategy for major potential and existing customers in collaboration with department head
  • analyse sales data concerning current ranges as well as  overall consumer requirements/trends in given market and contribute information to inform NPI/PD/NBD  strategy
  • extend the customer base by working with agents, dealers  and direct clients (as applicable) in line with the company’s routes to market strategy

Sales and account management:

  • drive sales with a high degree of autonomy to achieve sales targets, reporting directly to department head
  • where applicable contribute to the development of performance indicators and metrics to monitor the performance of our products, customers and markets
  • compile sales KPI reporting (as required) and participate in sales performance review discussions with management team
  • work with customers to create price proposals which meet customers budgetary, technical and aesthetic requirements whilst maximising the sales, margin, turnover and volume on projects
  • manage customer relationships ensuring that they are provided with an unsurpassable level of service at every interaction
  • follow up on disputes and commercial complaints in order to assure positive and profitable customer relations
  • seek customer feedback and provide it to department head  in a timely and succinct fashion
  • assist with the company presentation at internal & external events (trade shows, showroom events etc.)
  • contribute to drafting and distribution of sales material to ensure customers are kept informed of all haberdashery NPI and PD updates

Project management:

  • responsible for managing the project from brief to dispatch whilst building a positive, long-term relationship with the client
  • ensure the customers requirements are met/exceeded by working effectively with production/design departments
  • liaise with the production team to keep clients (and other project stakeholders)  informed of the progress of their orders and agree suitable action plans when an order is delayed
  • report regularly to the department head about the projects you are leading, raising any issues with scheduling, costs, design issues etc.

Financial:

  • maintaining financial reporting for cash flow monitoring and business profitability
  • manage customers accounts ensuring that invoices are issued and paid in a timely manner so as not to disrupt the workflow
  • work with production/design/sales management team where necessary to ensure budgets are sufficient at time of quotation/order

Candidate profile:

  • minimum five years’ of experience in a sales position in the design world, ideally in lighting
  • strong affinity towards the design industry and/or luxury goods market
  • strong commercial acumen, highly numerate
  • hands-on mentality and able to work autonomously
  • excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel), Google Workspace (google mail and sheets, calendar etc.), experience with Xero/unleashed or similar preferred but not essential
  • fluency in English (both written and spoken)
  • must be eligible to work in the UK
  • salary dependent on experience
