Salary and benefits: negotiable on expertise and experience. In line with RIBA salary guidance.
Job type: permanent. Full-time, Monday to Friday (8/9am – 5/6pm)
Experience/skills: high end residential project running. Complex retrofit experience. On site experience. Design leadership experience. Excellent communication.
Software: proficient in ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Enscape and Google Suite
Prerequisites: five to 10 years’ post-Part 3 qualification is essential.
Location: our office is in Ladywell and sites are spread across the city.
Start date: August/September 2026
About this role
We are looking to hire an experienced and enthusiastic project architect to join our design team starting August/September 2026.
The candidate must be at least five to ten years’ post-Part 3 with experience in residential refurbishment projects and with on site experience.

Role overview:
- deliver high-end residential projects (and occasionally small commercial), with budgets ranging from £500k to £5m+
- work both under the direction of an Director/Associate and independently, depending on project needs
- minimum five to ten years’ experience post-Part 3 qualification is essential
Design:
- demonstrate excellent design skills across concept through to detailed design
- confident working on interior design and bespoke joinery design (in-house design and build)
- lead design team meetings and coordinate input from all disciplines
- client and stakeholder management
- confident and articulate in front of clients, able to manage client relationships directly
- manage up and down the office hierarchy effectively
- liaise with consultants, statutory authorities and planning/building control bodies
- build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors
Technical and contractual:
- run projects through RIBA Stages 3 to 7
- working knowledge of construction detailing, able to produce and check technical drawings
- confident on site, with fortnightly site visits as standard
- knowledge of JCT Intermediate (ICD) contracts
- able to administer/run contracts through to completion
- manage the financial side of projects (budgets, valuations, cost control)
